Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge
14x11 Watercolor on Aquabord.
The 1st Rondout Creek Lighthouse, built in 1837, was damaged by ice/weather. The 2nd Lighthouse, built in 1867 on the south side of the creek was abandoned and subsequently demolished. The 3rd Lighthouse, built in 1913, lit in 1915 was fully automated in 1954 eliminating the need for an occupied lighthouse keeper. This painting is from a 1964 photo. The Lighthouse has since been remodeled into the Hudson River Maritime Museum.
