Red Admiral by JoanM..
Red Admiral

When the Red Admiral is viewed from above, he appears quite different in color. When his wings are spread, he is black and a very striking luminous bluish green.
His territory is quite widespread from southern New England to Florida and as far west at the Dakotas.

Papago Tribe - If anyone desires a wish to come true they must first capture a butterfly and whisper that wish to it. Since a butterfly can make no sound, the butterfly can not reveal the wish to anyone but the Great Spirit who hears and sees all. In gratitude for giving the beautiful butterfly its freedom, the Great Spirit always grants the wish. So, according to legend, by making a wish and giving the butterfly its freedom, the wish will be taken to the heavens and be granted

For the Ancient Greeks, the transformation of the butterfly from pupa to adult was a metaphore of the soul's resurrection and immortality. In fact, the Ancient Greek word for butterfly is a word which also means "soul" or "mind".
