Ruby

The Ruby Throated hummer is the only one that lives and breeds in NY.  Since they are not well adapted to the cold weather, they tend to migrate in late August to early September.  Hummingbirds only are present in the Americas, north, central and south.

The Hungarian Vizsla loves to romp in the fields sniffing and looking for birds.  When birds are found the Vizsla points out their location.

Blue Throated Hummingbird - NFS

The Blue Throated Hummingbird is the largest hummer north of Mexico with the northern limits of his range in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.  His length is 4-1/2" to 5" and has a wingspan of 8".  The female usually builds each new nest on top of her previous nest leading to "nest towers".
