American Painted Lady - NFS

American Painted Lady by JoanM.
American Painted Lady, a photo by JoanM. on Flickr.
Did you know butterflies are solar powered? Or that they can see more colors than humans? The American Painted Lady migrates independent of seasonal changes and can travel 100 miles a day at almost 30MPH. The American Painted Lady might be the most cold tolerant of all painted ladies and their close relative, the Red Admiral. It is believed that they overwinter in northern US.
An Irish Blessing: May the winds of the butterfly kiss the sun and find your shoulder to light on to bring you luck, happiness and riches today, tomorrow and beyond.
9x12 watercolor on aquabord.
