Violet Tailed Sylph
The Violet Tailed Sylph is a hummingbird who lives in tropical mountain forests with cloud cover in the western slope of the Andes in Ecuador & Columbia.
The males with larger tails appear to be dominant over the short tailed males. The male is 7" in length.

My Favorite Redneck
The Ruby-Throated Hummer is the only species breeding in NYS and leave early fall for warmer climates. The males leave first, followed by the females, and the juveniles leave last which is evidence of instinct behavior. 11" x 14" Watercolor on aquabord, sealed with UV resistant Krylon Acrylic coating - no glass needed

Rainforest Romance - NFS
The Spatula-Tail Hummingbird only exists in the rainforest of Peru. He has 2 short tail feathers and 2 long ones ending with spatula shaped feathers, which he can move independently to attract a female.

Wolf Lake Home - NFS
This is the back of a home we lived in for 7 years at Wolf Lake, The path led to many trails in acreage owned by Wolf Lk. homeowners which was backed up by state land. The lake was beautiful and used by sailboats, motorboats, etc. 11"x14" watercolor on aquabord.
